William J. Altmann, 77, of Stratford, died on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Stoney River Memory Care in Marshfield.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1940, in the town of Cleveland in Marathon County, to Jacob and Agnes (Draxler) Altmann.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stratford, with the Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam presiding.

Burial took place in the village of Stratford and military rites were conducted by the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 6352 of Stratford.

Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home of Stratford assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
