Kotecki, Evelyn T. (1929 – 13 DEC 1970)
Mrs. Anthony (Evelyn) Kotecki, 41, a rural Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) mother of 10
children, the eldest 14 years of age, died Sunday evening in Victory Memorial
Hospital at Stanley of head injuries suffered late Sunday afternoon in a
collision at an unmarked town road intersection 3 1/2 miles northeast of here.
Driving alone, Mrs. Kotecki was returning home from a meeting at St. Bernard's
Catholic parish in Thorp.
The driver of the other car, Ronald G. Tetzner, 17, son of a Thorp High School
athletic coach, reportedly escaped injury.
Authorities aid the accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m., and that the impact
forced the Kotecki car into a ditch. Mrs. Kotecki was thrown from the vehicle
and given first aid treatment at the scene, then rushed by ambulance to the
hospital, where she died about two hours later.
Circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation, Clark
County authorities said.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, with
the Reverend Francis Brockman, pastor, officiating. Survivors include her
husband and 10 children, all at home.
