Reverend Roman Misiewicz, 32, a recent arrival in this country from Poland, has
assumed the pastorate of St. Mary's Assumption Polish National Catholic Church
in Lublin. He succeeds Reverend Matthew A. Buba Jr.
Reverend Misiewicz was born in Drohobycz, Poland, near Krakow. He was graduated
from Stefan Batory High Scholl in Chorzow, Silesia, Poland, and completed his
philosophy and theology studies from 1956 until 1961 at Jagieilonski University.
He was ordained in 1961 at Katowice-Krakow.
During the past nine years Reverend Misiewicz served in parish work and as a
chaplain for students the past two years. He arrived in the United States August
18, 1970, on the invitation by Prime Bishop Thaddeus Zielinski.
Prior to coming to the Lublin parish, the priest studied English for two months
at Savonarolla Seminary, Scranton, Pennsylvania.
