Paape, Karl W. (15 February 1924 – 3 October 1974)
Karl W. Paape, 50, a former Greenwood city attorney, and Clark County Judge,
died Thursday, October 3, at his home in Madison. Mr. Paape had been a hearings
examiner for the Department of Labor, Industry, and Human Relations for the past
five years.
A native of Marshfield, he was born February 15, 1924, attended city public, and
parochial schools, and graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1942. He
received a Bachelor of Science degree from Central State Teachers College,
Stevens Point in 1946, and a Law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
in 1951.
Three years later, Mr. Paape opened his law office in Greenwood, serving as city
attorney there for seven years. He served as Clark County Judge for one year,
following his appointment to that position. In 1965, he established a law office
in Marshfield.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, the former Nancy Jean Wright, include two
children, Karen and William, both at home.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Hansen Chapel in Marshfield, and
interment was in the Hillside Cemetery.
