Szczech, Walter J. (12 AUG 1907 – 15 DEC 1970)
Walter J. Szczech, 63, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on
Tuesday, December 15, 1970. Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig's Church on
Friday, December 18th. Father Bill Matzek officiated at the ten a.m. service,
with burial being made in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Richard Szymanski, Robert Zukowski, James Schmitz, Walter
Pajak, Tom Broda, and Leon Novobielski.
Mr. Szczech, a farmer, was born August 12, 1907 in Chicago, Illinois. He moved
to rural Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1913 and farmed until his death. Walter was
united in marriage June 20, 1933 to Apolonia Badzinski at St. Hedwig's Church in
Thorp.
Surviving are: his wife, Apolonia; two sons, Jerome Szczech of Morton Grove,
Illinois and Dan Szczech, at home; two daughters, (Dolores) Mrs. James Paull of
Oak Creek, Wisconsin and Marlene Szczech of Milwaukee; one brother, Leon Zeck of
Naperville, Illinois; and one sister, (Nellie) Mrs. John Rogus of Gordon,
Wisconsin.
