Reverend F.H. Sprengler, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford (Clark
Co., Wis.), and St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Dorchester (Clark Co.), was honored
by his congregation Sunday evening in observance of his 40th anniversary in the
ministry.
A special service was held at Dorchester Memorial Hall. The Reverend Sprengler
has spent the last 25 years with the Abbotsford and Dorchester congregations.
The Reverend Sprengler was born May 31, 1906 in Carver County, Minnesota. He was
reared on a farm and educated in the parochial school at Cologne, Minnesota. He
attended Concordia College, St. Paul, and Concordia Theological Seminary, St.
Louis, Missouri.
He was married to the former Orlena Roesler of Thorp on August 31, 1932. The
Sprenglers are parents of two children, Reverend Donald Sprengler, Antigo, and
Mrs. L.A. (Shirley) Gostomski, Thorp.
Her served at Thorp, Stanley, and Reseburg for over 14 years, and has spent the
remainder of his career in Abbotsford-Dorchester parishes, coming there January
6, 1946.
Following the service, a reception and program were held in honor of the
Sprengler family, who were introduced to the assembly. Herbert Juneau, New
Lisbon, acted as master of ceremonies. He is a former member of the parish, and
was school administrator in both Abbotsford and Dorchester.
