Hiltz, Mary Beth (Marriage – 19 October 1974)
The marriage of Miss Mary Beth Hiltz, and Richard L. Schmitz was solemnized
Saturday, October 19, in an 11:30 a.m. ceremony at St. John Vianney Catholic
Church, Brookfield, with the Rev. Paul Lipscomb officiating. A reception was
held at the Holiday Inn of Waukesha.
The bride, presented in marriage by her brother, John Hiltz, is the daughter of
Mrs. Catherine R. Hiltz of Brookfield, and the late Mr. Hiltz. Mr. and Mrs.
Lamar Schmitz, Neillsville, are the groom’s parents.
A colonial bouquet of white roses and white daisy pompons complimented the
bride’s traditional white gown styled with flower trim circling the waistline,
neckline, and sleeves.
The dusty blue empire-waist, scoop-neckline gowns worn by bride’s attendants
were highlighted by white lace bodice trim. Miss Susan Hiltz, Brookfield, was
the maid-of-honor, and Mrs. Jim Bellin, Madison, Mrs. Jim Coraggio, Milwaukee,
and Miss Darla Schmitz, Neillsville, were the bridesmaids. Each carried a
colonial bouquet of yellow mums, and white daisy pompons.
Attending the groom as bestman was Duane Schmitz, Neillsville. Groomsmen
included Dean Schmitz, Neillsville, Mark Zvara, La Crosse, and Jim Bellin,
Madison; Roger Hansen, Marshfield, and Edwin Meissner, Chili, seated guests.
The new Mrs. Schmitz, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, is
employed as an elementary school teacher. Her husband attends the same
university, and is employed as a psychiatric attendant. They are living in West
Salem.
