Pierce, Eva Eunice (1 October 1891 – 17 October 1974)
Funeral services were held Saturday morning from the Georgas Funeral Home for
Mrs. Eva Trader Pierce, 84, a former Humbird area resident, who died October 17
at the Clark County Hospital at Owen. The Rev. Joseph Henseler of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church officiated, and interment followed in the Town of Mentor
Cemetery. The Rosary was recited Friday night at the funeral home.
The former Eva Eunice Lemon, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Lemon,
was born October 1, 1891, in Dunn County, and was educated there. She was
married in 1914 to Clem L. Trader, who preceded her in death in 1946. The couple
farmed in the Humbird area, and she also worked in the Humbird Canning Factory.
Her marriage to Henry Pierce took place in 1957. Mr. Pierce died in 1967.
Thereafter, she made her home with her children prior to entering the hospital.
Surviving, are four children: Mrs. Katherine Kurtzweg of Rockford, Il., Clem H.
Trader of Marshfield, Mrs. Anna Tanck of Wausau, and Mrs. Henry (Martha)
Cummings of Marshfield; 16 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and one
great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were: Donald Fleichman, Norbert Konrardy, Joe Trader, Ronald and
Gary Cummings, and Steve Konrardy.
Mrs. John Schiesel was the organist.
Among those who attended the services were the following from out of town: Mr.
and Mrs. Clem Trader, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Konrardy, Ronald Cummings, Mr. and
Mrs. Gary Cummings, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cummins, Stebe Konrardy, and Mr. and Mrs.
Ed Johnson, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fleichman and family, Spencer; Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Trader, Plover;
Mrs. Katherine Kurtzweg and Mrs. Joan Kaehler, Rockford, Il.; Mr. and Mrs. Theo.
Wyszynski, Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. Evan Walters, Friendship; Mr. and Mrs. Art
Putman and Charlotte, Cadott; Mrs. A. Gessner, Chippewa Falls; Mrs. George
Michaels, Alma Center; Mrs. John Burchell, Humbird; Mrs. Ann Tanck, Ted Eicciova,
and Mrs. John Mathie, Wausau.
