Jonas, Jeanette E. (9 August 1954 – 13 January 2018)
Jeanette E. Jonas, 63, who was born on August 9, 1954 in Neillsville, WI to
Theodore and Adeline (Knoop) Schoenherr, died on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at
the Marshfield Medical Center.
She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1972. Jeanette worked at
McDonald’s in Marshfield for 25 years, advancing to manager. She also worked at
the Marshfield Clinic Credit Union, and with the U.S. Postal Service in
Neillsville, Granton, and Chili. Jeanette loved to garden, to quilt, and to
exhibit her flowers and quilts at the local fairs. She was proud of winning
“Best of Show” for her gladiolas. She found great joy in making beautiful quilts
for her nieces, nephews, and others. Jeanette loved playing Scrabble, especially
with her late Aunt Ottillie, and was on several bowling teams over the years.
She was a member of the Town of Fremont Zoning Committee, and volunteered at
elections.
She was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton, where she married
Richard W. Jonas on February 14, 1999.
Jeannette is survived, by her husband, Richard, seven siblings: Kay (Bill
Wright) Schoenherr of Monona; Ron (Laura Stern) Schoenherr of Naalehu, HI;
Marvin Schoenherr of Minocqua, Jackie (Dave) Bohlinger of Strum; Marilyn Okuyiga
of Shenzhen, China; Shirley (Dan) Jacoby of Woodruff and Scott (Rachele)
Schoenherr of Springfield, MO; sisters-in-law: Mary (Ken) Fischer of Edgar, and
Sharon Jonas of Mazomanie, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and
friends.
She was preceded in death, by her parents, and a brother-in-law, James Jonas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the
Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton, with Pastor Dan Zimmerman officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the
Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday
morning at the church.
