Fort Hood Texas – Army Specialist Four James L. Lewan, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Louis Lewan, route 1, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., recently was awarded a safe
driving award while serving with the 2nd Armored Division at Fort Hood, Texas.
Spec. 4 Lewan received the award for driving military vehicles more than six
months with no accidents or traffic violations.
Spec. 4 Lewan, a clerk in the Division's 502nd Administrative Company, entered
the Army in August 1970 and completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood,
Missouri.
He is a 1964 graduate of Thorp High School.
