Huhn, Michael Alexander (20 MAR 1936 - 16 JAN 2018)
Michael Alexander Huhn, age 101, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at MCHS
in Bloomer.
He was born on November 10, 1916 in Sheldon, Wisconsin to Joseph and Eva (Hugel)
Huhn. He married Violet Wallace on December 25, 1942 at the Wallace Farm house
in Holcombe, WI.
In his younger years, Michael worked as a farmer and later worked for many years
as a machinist for Presto and Johnson Plastic Machinery. He enjoyed talking to
people and was the king of the short conversation. His hobbies included camping,
tenting, deer hunting, boating, fishing, cutting wood and working outside. He
was proud of the fact that he still had his driver’s license at 100 years old.
He is survived by; one daughter: Eva Rihn of Bloomer; one son: Robert Huhn of
New Auburn; three grandchildren: Richard (Bettsie) Huhn, Michelle (Jeff) Loew,
Tina (Travis) Myers; four great-grandchildren: Kathy Huhn, Sara Allen, Amy
Stout, Ashley Loew; eight great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Eva Huhn; wife: Violet;
daughter: Betty Jean Huhn; brothers: Peter, Joseph, and Nicholas.
Funeral services will be held on Monday January 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St.
John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer with Pastor Martin Halom officiating. Spring
interment will be in the Holcombe Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 on Sunday January 21, 2018 at Olson Funeral
Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
