Nelson, Richard L. (14 FEB 1944 - 18 JAN 2018)
Richard L. Nelson, age 73, of Medford, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday,
January 18, 2018 at his residence.
At Richard's request, there will be a private service for the family held at Our
Saviour's Lutheran Church in Holway.
Richard was born on February 14, 1944, the son of Robert and Sylvia (Olson)
Nelson. He was united in marriage to Florence Stibbe on August 7, 1965 at Our
Saviour's Lutheran Church in Holway. She preceded him in death on January 30,
2016.
Richard worked for Weathershield in Medford for several years. He was a member
of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Holway where he was the caretaker. Richard
also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, playing cards, camping, bird
watching, taking walks and puzzles. He was especially fond of his pets. Most
importantly, Richard cherished his family.
Richard is survived by three children: Rick (Mary) Nelson of Rib Lake, Rhonda
Nelson of Medford, and Kevin (Amy) Nelson of Medford; and six grandchildren: Ash
(Elyse) Nelson of Stoddard, Nik (Emily) Nelson of Somerset, Jenna Nelson (Dillon
Witt) of Colorado Springs, CO, Jamie Nelson (Derrick Neitzel) of Medford, Chase
and Brandi Nelson of Medford and one great-granddaughter, Kora Nelson of
Somerset. He is further survived by two brothers and one sister: Harvey (Anita)
Raasch of Reedsburg, Ron (Alice) Nichols of Reedsburg and Shirley (Wes) Becon of
Cumming, GA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Florence.
