Jamie was born on Nov. 28, 1976, the son of Darrell Steen and Terri Engen in Marshfield. He graduated from Colby High School in 1995. Jamie worked for his father at Steen Construction Inc., then Haas Construction before starting his own business, SJS Excavating.

Jamie was united in marriage to Sara Loertscher on June 29, 2002, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Jamie chose Sara, his one true love, and together they built a beautiful life. Their four daughters were the light of his life. Jamie’s whole family was always so important to him, and he cherished the time they spent together. All who knew Jamie, knew he loved fishing and hunting and the Green Bay Packers. Many have fond memories of his days as a drummer in the band Soda Jerk. Above all else, Jamie was known as a true friend who never hesitated to lend a hand and always put his family first.

Jamie is survived by his wife, Sara; four daughters, Emily, Kylie, Mackenzie and Natalie; his father, Darrell (Cindy) Steen; his mother, Terri Engen (Tim Braun); nine siblings, Corey (Lisa) Steen, Chad (Kim) Steen, Shane (Sarah) Steen, Chase Bruger, Kayla Leonhard, Dillon Buss, Derrian Braun, Justin Duranceau (Nikki Kops) and Neil Duranceau.
