Swenson, Mark (Who’s Who - 1974)
Mark Swenson, Neillsville, a senior at Neillsville High School was recently
notified that he is to be featured in the eighth annual edition of “Who’s Who
Among American High School Students, 1973-74,” the largest student award
publication in the nation.
Students from over 20,000 public, private, and parochial high schools throughout
the country are recognized for their leadership in academics, athletics,
activities, or community service in the books. Less than three percent of the
junior and senior class students nationwide are awarded this recognition.
Mark is the son of Calvin and Fern Swenson of Rt. 2, Neillsville.
Mark is active in football, basketball, was in the junior class play, and is in
the senior class play, forensics, “N” Club, chess club, and is also the senior
class president, past treasurer, and an active member of Calvary Luther League.
In addition to having his biography published in the book, Mark will also
compete for one of ten scholarship awards of $500 - $1,000 funded by the
publishers and will be invited to participate in the firm’s annual “Survey of
High Achievers.”
Mark plans to enroll in a Wisconsin State University, majoring in a field
related to chemistry or physics.
