Price, Chris J. (5 DEC 1914 – 19? FEB 1971)
Chris J. Price, 56, of Rochester, Minnesota, formerly of Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.), suffered a fatal haeart attack while driving his car near Blooming
Prairie, Minnesota.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's
Catholic Church, Rochester, with Msgr. Raymond Jansen officiating. Burial was
made in the Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Norbert Fitzpatrick, Dan Dinneen,
G.B. Nesbitt, Archie Armstrong, Lyle Ladwig, and Richard Pike.
Mr. Price was born December 5, 1914 at Thorp. He was united in marriage November
26, 1936 to Martha Grusecki. He farmed and also was in the silo business near
Thorp, before moving to Rochester in 1939, when he purchased the Rochester Silo
Company, of which he has been president since. He built his business from almost
nothing to the third largest in the nation.
Surviving are his wife, Martha; two sons, Ray and Gerald Price, both of
Rochester, Minnesota; two daughters, Rosalie Price of Chicago and Eileen Price,
attending school in Boston; one brother, Ben Price of Chicago; three sisters,
Mrs. Julia Otto and Mrs. Antoinette Kuznair, both of Chicago, and Mrs. Helen
Drozd of Stanley. He was preceded in death by one brothers and one sister.
