Gutowski, Catherine (Marriage - 12 October 1974)
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gutowski, Rt. 3 Stanley, presented their daughter, Catherine
in marriage to Edward W. Strojny in ceremonies performed October 12, at Holy
Family Catholic Church, Stanley, by the Rev. Leonard G. Kaiser. The groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Strojny, Rt. 3 Thorp.
White satapeau formed the bride’s empire-waist, A-line gown framed by a
lace-bordered mantilla veil flowing into a train. She carried white mums, yellow
roses, and baby’s breath in a cascade of accenting ivy.
Sister Bernadine Gutowski, Springfield, Il., was the maid-of-honor. Acting as
bridesmaids were: Mrs. Dave Gulcynski, Thorp, Miss Roxanne Mahe, Milwaukee, and
Miss Kim Paulson, Thorp. Emerald green velvet cuffs and lapels high-lighted
their green knit, A-line gowns brightened by bouquets of multi-hued mums with
green streamers.
Robert Strojny, Thorp, served as bestman. Groomsmen were: Dave Gulcynski, Thorp,
Butch Gutowski, Stanley, and Glenn Seaman, Thorp. Ushering duties were shared by
Leonard Gutowski, Thorp, and Richard Strojny, Elk Mound.
Sister Renalda was the organist, and the men’s choir of the church sang.
St. Hedwig’s Quonset Hall, Thorp, was the scene of an afternoon reception, and
an evening dance.
A 1973 graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School, the new Mrs. Strojny is employed by
a Thorp insurance firm. Her husband graduated from Thorp High School in 1970,
and from the Eau Claire Technical Institute in 1971. He is employed as a
carpenter.
The newlyweds will live at rural Thorp, following their return from a wedding
trip to California and other western states.
