Symbal, Katherine (6 JAN 1886 – 24 FEB 1971)

Katherine Symbal, age 85 and a resident of route 3, Stanley, died February 24, 1971 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

She was born in Poland January 6, 1886. She came to the U.S. in 1906 to the Stanley area. She was married to Alex Symbal at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), on January 6, 1907. They farmed in the Stanley area until a few years ago, when she retired. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Junction.

She is survived by five sons, Edward, Walter and Stanley, all of Chicago, Paul of Gray's Lake, Illinois, and Alex of Stanley; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Bernice) Sczech of Stanley, Mrs. Stanley (Ulga) Urbas of Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. Stanley (Victoria) Szymoniak of Chicago; 23 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, January 26, 1969, and two children.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's at Junction on Saturday at 11 a.m., with Father Stanley Andrewjeski officiating. Interment was made in St. Mary's (Czestochowa) Cemetery.
