Twice the week the fire company was called to action, and in both instances the
loss was total.
The biggest loss occurred at 1:52 Monday afternoon, when the barn on the farm
owned by L.C. Christensen was destroyed. The farm is located four miles east and
two and one-half miles south of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.). The fire in the 30 x 40
structure started in the milk house and is believed to have started from a
heater on the water pump. There were no livestock in the barn, and only a small
amount of hay. The farm home is occupied by the Henry Brill family, who moved
onto the place about three weeks ago.
