Wiles, Gerald A. "Jerry" (22 JAN 1936 – 7 JAN 2018)
Gerald "Jerry" A. Wiles, age 81, of Watertown, SD, passed away Sunday, January
7, 2018, at Jenkins Living Center.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Hosanna
Lutheran Church in Watertown. Reverend Janine Rew-Werling and Reverend Craig
Werling will officiate. There will be a private interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery,
Watertown.
Gerald A. Wiles, the son of Maurice O. and Edna C. (Western) Wiles, was born on
January 22, 1936, in Stanley, Wisconsin. He grew up and attended school in
Stanley and graduated from Stanley High School. He also attended the University
of Wisconsin. Jerry was united in marriage with Mariane C. Staniec on May 8,
1957, in Stanley, Wisconsin. The couple lived in Thorp, Wisconsin until moving
to Watertown, South Dakota in 1973.
Jerry was in the computer business in Thorp and Watertown for 22 years. He then
was a manager in the food and beverage industry for several years. After
retiring he drove school bus for the Watertown School District. He enjoyed "his
kids" as he would call them.
He loved spending time with his family, he fished and hunted, he had several
black hills deer hunting trip with his kids. Music was a big part of his life
including having a polka band in Wisconsin. Jerry and Mariane liked traveling
and being members of the Hart Ranch in Rapid City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Edna.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Mariane of Watertown; his children: Deborah
(Brian) Griffin of Watertown, SD, Duane (Laura) Wiles of Spokane, WA, Brian
(Teri) Wiles of Fredrick, CO and Terry (Lori) Wiles of Sioux Falls, SD; his
siblings, Tom (Donna) Wiles of Milan, MO, Dick (Betty) Wiles of Springfield, MO,
Jack (Sandy) Wiles of Normal, IL, and Kathy (John) Sherman of Terrell, TX; his
six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
