Balts, Orpha Ruth (Call) (31 MAY 1923 - 18 JAN 2018)
Orpha Ruth Balts, 94, of Cadott, WI, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018
at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. She slipped peacefully into the
presence of the Lord, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Strum, WI, on May 31, 1923 to Alexander and Mae (Moe) Call. She
married her loving husband Philip Balts on June 17, 1950 in Strum.
Orpha is survived by seven children Phyllis (George) Frisinger, Steven Balts
(Melissa Greene), Roger (Linda) Balts, all of Cadott, Dale (Sandy) Balts of
Apple Valley, MN, Brenda (Steve) Frisinger of Cadott, Dean (Michelle) Balts of
Sturgeon Bay, Lauren Balts of Sheldon, and Son-in-Law Mark Brasseur of Chippewa
Falls. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Philip, son Darrell, daughter Rhonda
Brasseur, her parents, her four brothers John, David, Phillip and Levi Call, and
her sister Bessie Call.
Orpha was blessed with the gift of hospitality and enjoyed serving anyone who
visited their farm home in Cadott. Her home-baked buns and cinnamon rolls were
enjoyed by all. She welcomed guests with her gentle smile and peaceful spirit.
She always enjoyed occasions when all of the family would get together. At an
early age, Orpha learned to play the piano and continued to bless others with
her music until she was 93 years old. Above all, Orpha was known for her
steadfast faith and trust in the Lord, leaving an amazing legacy for her family
and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at
Harvestime Church in Eau Claire, WI with Pastor Kim Buckman officiating.
Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Countryside Union Cemetery in the
Township of Goetz.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26th, 2018 at the
Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, WI. and also One hour prior to the Services
Saturday morning at the Church.
