Froehlich, Carol (Peterson) (1952? - 22 JAN 2018)
Carol (Peterson) Froehlich of Eau Claire passed away peacefully at her home on
Monday, January 22, 2018, after a short battle with cancer.
Carol was born on a military base in Killeen, Texas in 1952 to parents Donald
and Lorraine Peterson. The oldest of three sisters, she grew up in Chetek and
Eau Claire. Carol graduated in 1970 from Eau Claire Memorial High School and
married Richard Froehlich in February 1972—they were about to celebrate 46 years
of marriage. A devoted wife, and loving mom and grandmother, she always put her
family first.
Carol worked in real estate for many years, starting her career as a real estate
agent with Century 21. Over time, she went on to become an expert in mortgage
lending and financial services. She loved numbers, but mostly she enjoyed
helping people find their first homes or figure out how to finance their new
homes, cars, etc.
Carol was a fun-loving, free spirit who enjoyed spending time with (and often
entertaining) family and friends. Some of her favorite activities included
fishing with grandpa, playing guitar and singing, taking silly Facebook quizzes,
and watching football (loudly cheering on the Pack with a beer in hand). “Crazy
Carol,” as many family members often referred to her, had a playful sense of
humor and an energy that would light up a room.
Carol is survived by her husband, Richard Froehlich of Eau Claire; daughter,
Tracy (Joe) Patrowicz; and grandsons, Michael, Stephen, and Joshua Patrowicz of
Bumpass, Virginia; son, Travis Froehlich (Darren Kuhnau) of Ponte Vedra Beach,
Florida; mother, Lorraine Peterson of Eau Claire; sisters, Judy (Michael)
Wampole of Apache Junction, Arizona and Laurie Hysen of Eau Claire; aunt, Mary
Peterson of Eau Claire; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Peterson; and grandfather,
Arnold Keopp of Chetek.
A small service and celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday,
January 27, 2018, at the Labor Temple in Eau Claire.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Chippewa
County Humane Association online at
www.chippewahumane.com.
Chippewa Valley Cremation Services in Altoona is serving the family.
