Relief from a lingering illness came to Mrs. Douglas Braithwait, 52, of route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), when she passed away at week ago today, Thursday, January 8, 1970, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Saturday afternoon, January 10 from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, Owen, with Rev. Arnold Woodring, pastor of the Alliance Church, being in charge. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Braithwait, the former Dorothy Buchholz, was born November 17, 1917 at Fond du Lac. She and Douglas Braithwait were united in marriage in a ceremony performed at Neillsville on June 10, 1942. The couple farmed for many years in the Town of Green Grove (Clark Co.), and the past 13 years she has been an employee of the Clark County Hospital. She was a devoted member of the Alliance Church, Owen, and served as its assistant supervisor of the church school.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Randy and Delvin, both at home; and three sisters, Mrs. George Porse and Mrs. H. Haystad, both of Milwaukee; Mrs. John Edmanson, Detroit, Michigan; and three brothers, Harry and George, both of Waupun, and Clarence, Muscoda, Wisconsin.
