Warjonen, Santer M. (23 SEP 1889 – 19 JAN 1970)
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 23, 1970 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home for Santer Michael Warjonen, 80, who passed away
at his home January 19, 1970 at 9:10 p.m. due to complications of age. Rev. H.W.
Luetkehoelter will officiate and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Arne Holpanen, Joe Zielinski, Tom Jablonic, Toivo Maninen,
Arne Laakso, and Ted Piekola.
Mr. Warjonen was born September 23, 1889 in Finland. In 1909 he was married to
Ida Johanna Gronroos, who preceded him in death in 1965. He came to the United
States in 1909 and returned to Finland in 1913 to bring his wife back to the
U.S. They lived in Montreal, Wisconsin until 1921 and farmed in the Town of
Beaver, south of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) until 1946. From 1946 until 1957 they
had a farm in the Town of Longwood. They retired in 1957 and moved to Owen.
Survivors include two daughters, Ida Warjonen, Owen, and Mrs. Carl (Hilda) Lehti
of U.S.S.R., and one grandson, Marvin Lehti, also of U.S.S.R.
