Bauer, Nancy Jane (Marriage – 19 October 1974)
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin J. Bauer of Neillsville presented their daughter, Nancy Jane,
in ma3rriage to Kenneth Larry Oldham on Saturday, October 19, at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Oldham, Rt. 2
Neillsville.
The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony, which, was followed
by a reception at the American Legion Hall and a dance at the Silver Dome
Ballroom.
The bride’s gown of Mira-mist and Chantilly lace featured a chapel-length train.
Her matching veil, edged with lace, fell from a Juliet cap. She carried a
cascade arrangement of gold roses, white mums and baby’s breath.
Fall-hued mums, carnations and baby’s breath formed the bouquets of
matron-of-honor Sandy Ziegler, Neillsville, and bridesmaids Sue Bauer,
Neillsville, Donna Poupore, Kingsford, Mi., and Kathy Kruse, Beloit. Their gowns
of nylon sheer print and crepe were fashioned in shades of orange, olive, brown
and gold, respectively.
Attending the groom were Allan Boon, Greenwood, as bestman and Wayne Ziegler,
Neillsville, Roger Poupore, Kingsford, Mi., and Frank Oldham, Spencer, as
groomsmen. Mike Bauer, Fall Creek, and Ronald Oldham, Granton, seated guests.
Gregg Oldham was the ringbearer and Julie Oldham, the flower girl.
Soloist Marilyn Watenpuhl sang “More,” “Wedding song,” and “Today.” Mrs. Glen
Short was the organist.
The bride was honored at a pre-nuptial shower given by Mrs. Wayne Ziegler, Mrs.
Mike Bauer and Miss Sue Bauer.
A 1972 graduate of Neillsville High School, the new Mrs. Oldham attended the
University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, for one year and graduated in 1974
from City College of Cosmetology, Eau Claire. Her husband graduated from
Neillsville High School in 1969 and is employed by a local firm.
Following their return from a wedding trip to the western states, they will live
in Neillsville.
