Altmann, Casper W. (11 DEC 1935 - 5 FEB 2018)
Casper W. Altmann, 82, of Stratford died on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Serenity
Assisted Living in Marshfield.
He was born on Dec. 11, 1935, in the town of Cleveland, to Jacob and Agnes
(Drexler) Altmann.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stratford, with the Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam
presiding. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the village of
Stratford.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home
in Stratford, and again from 10 a.m. on Friday until the time of service.

officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the Village of
Stratford. The visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Thursday at
Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, and from 10:00 am until service time on
Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Casper was born on December 11, 1935 in the Town of Cleveland, Marathon County,
to Jacob and Agnes (Draxler) Altmann.
Casper had been employed in the mobile home industry for most of his life and
lastly at Wick’s Building Systems for 47 years until his retirement. He also had
been self employed as a carpet installer.
Casper enjoyed playing baseball, darts, hunting and fishing. He was very proud
to be an accomplished winemaker and received many awards for his wines.
He is survived by 4 sisters, Agnes (James) Koehler of Stratford, RoseMarie
“Rosie” Bean of Lake Tomahawk, Mary (Kenneth) Leick of Stratford and Kathleen
Richardson of Marshfield. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Elizabeth Ackerman, a
brother, William Altmann and brothers-in-law, Glenn Bean and Arnold Richardson.
