Carstensen, Marilyn B. (Berger) (16 OCT 1935 - 30 JAN 2018)
Marilyn B. Carstensen, 82, of Medford passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018 at
Aspirus Medford Hospital. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17 from
10-11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. A private family service
will follow with Father David Neuschwander officiating. Urn bearers will be
grandsons, Mark Nowak, Vincent and David Dobeck, Tim Ziembo and Zach and Alex
Carstensen.
Marilyn was born on Oct. 16, 1935 in Deer Creek to the late Herman and Julia (Stendel)
Berger. She went to Deer Creek School and attended Medford High School. Her
marriage to Daniel Carstensen took place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in
Medford on Oct. 24, 1953 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 2014.
She was a stay at home mom and did day care until her children were in school.
She then worked in the kitchen at Medford nursing home and later at Memorial
Hospital and in the laundry at Memorial Hospital until her retirement.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Barb (Bill) Ziembo of Brooklyn Center,
Minn., Lori (Mike) Dobeck of Henderson, Nev., Donna (Pete) Nowak, Dan-Butch
(Jill) Carstensen, Mike (Denise) Carstensen, all of Medford; one brother, Vernon
Berger of Medford; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister, Norma
Evsich; brothers, Robert Berger, Donald Berger and Wallace and Ruth in infancy.
