Kozik, Hazel I. (Montgomery) (7 DEC 1928 - 30 JAN 2018)
Hazel I. Kozik, Age 89, of Marshfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018
at Golden Living Three Oaks under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice
Services.
A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Hazel was born in Neillsville on December 7, 1928 the daughter of Ralph and Edna
(Schmidt) Montgomery. She attended Marshfield Senior High School. Hazel was
united in marriage on July 9, 1947 to Leon Kozik. Sadly, he passed away on March
19, 2015.
They resided in Chili where they operated a hog operation before moving to
Marshfield. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a Nursing Assistant, at
Bethel Nursing Home and for Weyerhauser for 28 years before retiring.
Hazel enjoyed gardening along with birdwatching. She also enjoyed cross
stitching, knitting, crocheting and doing puzzles.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Judy (Paul) Beisel of Portland, OR., Bonnie
Shannon of Medford, Sharon (Greg) Magnuson of Neillsville, Sandra (Robert) Bauer
of Marshfield and her sons Conrad (Sandy) Kozik of Spencer, Calvin (Jola) Kozik
of Chili, Corwyn (Rhonda) Kozik of Marshfield and Ken (Joan) Kozik of Chili. She
is further survived by her 16 grandchildren, her 26 great-grandchildren and her
sisters-in-law Irma Montgomery and Mabel Montgomery.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Edna Montgomery, her husband
Leon, her son-in-law Vern Shannon, her brothers Harold, Irving, Robert and Arnie
Montgomery and her three step-sisters, Helen, Frances and Nellie.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated in Hazel’s name to Aspirus
Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Hazel’s family would like to thank Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services,
Three Oaks Golden Living Center and her caregiver Florence.
Her arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
