Powers, Patrick “Pat” (4 APR 1952 - 23 JAN 2018)

Patrick “Pat” Powers, 65, of Minong, formerly of Bruce, passed from this life on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018 in Ocala, Fla. with his sister at his side.

Patrick lost his battle in life, with complications resulting from an automobile accident on June 7, 2017. He was well enough to fly to Ocala on Oct. 3 to continue his rehab in Florida near his sister. In spite of his ongoing progress, he developed pneumonia in November and again in January. He fought a great fight!

Patrick was born on April 4, 1952 in Rice Lake to Duane E. and Eunice T. Powers. He lived in Bruce prior to moving to Minong. He loved the outdoors and riding through the woods on his ATV. He was employed at Link Brothers, and a local cranberry company prior to his retirement.
He enjoyed maintaining his and his mother’s home. In recent years, he was the main caregiver for his mother — cooking, yard work and shopping. He enjoyed the daily walks with their dog, Spud. He was a hardworking, kind, caring person with a great sense of humor. He was looking forward to the trip back to Wisconsin in the spring.

Patrick is survived by his sister, Kathleen (Powers) Beise; his uncle, Delbert Hanson; his niece, Michelle (Powers) Forehand; his cousins, David Hanson, Dennis Hanson, Dean Hanson, Stephanie (Hanson) Culver, Wendy (Anderson) Rankin, Nancy (Anderson) Van Sickel, Mary (Anderson) Classon, Betty (Anderson) Marks; and many great nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Duane Powers; his mother, Eunice Powers; his brother, Michael Powers; his sister-in-law, Rita Powers and his nephews Jacob Powers and Christopher Powers.

All cheered him on during his fight to regain his health from the automobile accident that also took the life of his mother, Eunice Powers.

A memorial service is being planned for June 2018.
