Thielke, Allan “Farley” P. (25 JUN 1932 - 2 FEB 2018)
Allan “Farley” P. Thielke, 85, of 124 S. Third Street, Medford, passed away on
Friday, February 2, 2018, at his residence in the City of Medford under the
loving care of his family and Hope Hospice.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, March 3 from 1-4 PM at
the Chelsea Conservation Club in the Town of Chelsea with military rites
performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team at 1:00 PM
Allan was born on June 25, 1932 at Medford, to Gilbert August and Vivien Irene
(Wilson) Thielke. He attended Medford Elementary schools and was a 1950 graduate
of Medford High School. On June 23, 1956, in Milwaukee, he was married to
Margaret “Midge” A. Weber. She survives.
After his education, he entered the US Army and served during the Korean Was in
the Army Corp. of Engineers. After the service, he returned to Medford and
worked locally for James Peterson & Sons, Neuendorf Transportation, ANR
Trucking, Central Sand & Gravel & Krug Tours for periods of time. He also served
on the Medford City Council as an alderman and on the Taylor County Board for
periods of time. He enjoyed storytelling, fishing, hunting, his green truck, the
cabin at Shearer Lake, socializing, cobbling, the outdoors, driving truck and a
recent trip on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight.
Allan was a member of Medford VFW Club, Chelsea Conservation Club and was a
Lifetime member of the Medford American Legion Club.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Midge” A. Thielke of Medford; children
Debbi (Wayne) Weiland of Holcombe and Susan (Nanette) Thielke of Maplewood, MN;
3 grandchildren – Chelsea (Ryan) Mielke of Waupun, Christine (Marshall) Watry of
Appleton and Scott (Hillary) Weiland of Naples, FL; and 3 great grandchildren –
Kendall and Camden Watry, Bryce Mielke.
Allan is predeceased by his parents, Gilbert August and Vivien Irene (Wilson)
Thielke; sons – Robert Gordon and Robert Weber both in infancy; and siblings
Gordon and Stan Thielke.
The family requests memorial contributions be given to either the Aspirus
Dialysis Center of Medford or the Never Forgotten Honor Flight, 4404 Rib
Mountain Drive #234, Wausau, WI 54401.
