Grata, Robert “Bob” Valentine (21 December 1946 – 3 February 2018)

Robert “Bob” Valentine Grata, 71, Granton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at his home. Bob Grata was born Dc. 21, 1946, in Chicago, IL, the son of Walter and Evelyn (Stanczyk) Grata.

Bob Gergan his professional career as an electrician, working on the skyscrapers of Chicago. In 1980, Bob and his family moved from Chicago, to Granton, where he began his career as the bus technician at the Granton Area School District. In 2008, Bob retired after 27 years of dedicated service.

Bob’s greatest love in life was his family, and he often said, “It’s all about family.” Bob enjoyed collecting blue M&M collectables and was an avid gamer on the Xbox 360.

He is survived by his four children, Rick, Jennifer, Tracy (Erik) and Susan (Dean); his 11 grandchildren: Mason, Sheleah, Mack, Savannah, Aiden, Greta, Skylar, Brady, Pierce, Sophia and Dane; loving ex-wife Pearl; and brother Les.

A memorial graveside service for Bob will be held at the Windfall Cemetery, Granton March 30, 2018, at 4 p.m.
