Stetzer, Steven B. (8 January 1971 – 7 February 2018)

Steven B. Stetzer, 47, of Neillsville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, surrounded by family at Marshfield medical Center in Marshfield from complications of cancer. He was born Jan. 8, 1971, son of Walter and Loretta (Rochester) Stetzer.

Steven was born and raised on a farm in rural Melrose, where he attended Melrose-Mindoro High School. He was on the board of the Wisconsin Soybean Association. He crop-farmed with his brothers until 2015. He left the farm to pursue other adventures in life. He traveled many, many places and always found new friends. He was very sociable and personable. Steven was very proud of his Victorian manor in Neillsville and especially enjoyed decorating, shopping at antique shops and attending auctions. Steven took pride in gardening. He loved cooking and enjoyed fine dining.

Steven is survived by his beloved partner, Justin Black of Neillsville; sisters, Cathy (Sam McNulty) Hart and Joan (Dave) Johnson, both of Black River Falls; brothers: Michael (Diane) Stetzer of Midland, GA, David (Patty) Stetzer, Donald (Iva) Stetzer and Duane (Renee) Stetzer, all of Melrose; Justin’s mother, Theresa Grebinoski of Neillsville; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends and relatives.

He is preceded in death by parents, brother-in-law Dale Hart and nephew Jake Dale Hart.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Little Norway Lutheran Church in rural Black River Falls, with Pastor Denise Anderson officiating. Burial followed at Oxbow Cemetery in Melrose.

Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at Torgerson’s Funeral Home (408 North Water Street) in Black River Falls and again from 10 a.m. until the time of services at Little Norway Church Saturday.

Torgerson’s Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
