Borgemoen, Manda (3 FEB 1887 – 11 APR 1970)
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 1970 at St. Paul's
Lutheran Church for Mrs. Manda Borgemoen, 83, of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), who
died at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 1970 at the Marshfield Convalescent Center.
The Rev. Roger Tellock, pastor , officiated, and burial followed in the
Norwegian (St. Paul's) Lutheran Cemetery at Curtiss.
The former Manda Floden was born February 3, 1887 in Norway, where she received
her education. She came to the United States in 1909 with a brother and settled
in South Dakota. She was married at Clark S.D. on October 11, 1916 to John H.
Borgemoen, who preceded her in death.
After their marriage the couple moved to Curtiss, where they farmed until 1929,
when they returned to South Dakota. In 1938 they moved to Colby. They lived
there until 1945, and then returned to Curtiss. She entered the Marshfield
Convalescent Center in 1969.
Mrs. Borgemoen was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.
Survivor include a daughter, Mrs. Rudy Jaskela, in South Dakota; two sons,
Marvell Borgemoen, Bellwood, Ill., and Victor Borgemoen, Curtiss; nine
grandchildren; a brother, Victor Floden, Wallace, S.D., and six brothers and
sisters in Norway.
