Komanec, Frances (Lisowski) Berenchik (26 MAY 1922 - 7 FEB 2018)

Frances Komanec, 95, formerly of Gilman, died on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley.

Frances was born on May 26, 1922 to the late John and Mary (Minkewicz) Lisowski in Chicago, Ill. She grew up in the Lublin area and married George Berenchik. He later died and she married Paul Komanec on Sept. 10, 1966. Frances enjoyed gardening, her flowers and fishing.

Frances is survived by her son, Patrick Komanec of Gilman; stepsons, Arthur and Gabriel Komanec of Idaho; one granddaughter, Nicole Fors; many step-grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; sons, George and Richard Berenchik; her daughter, Delores Fors; brothers, Walter Konovil, John and Frank Lisowski; and her sisters, Olga Sarwas and Rose Mallek.

A funeral mass was held at 12 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman with Father Madanu Lourdu officiating. Burial followed in Meadowbrook Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. Monday morning until the time of the service.
