Rycerz, Roger J. (20 MAR 1953 – 3 FEB 2018)

Roger J. Rycerz, age 64, of Stanley, formerly of Thorp, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center on Saturday, February 3, 2018. A Celebration of Life was held at The Foxx Den, in Thorp, on Friday, February 9, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Roger Joseph Rycerz was born on March 20, 1953, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley, WI, the son of Adolph and Irene (Wincek) Rycerz. He was raised and received his education in the Thorp area, and graduated from Thorp High School in 1971. After high school, Roger worked at Teledyne, in Owen, as a sawyer. He was united in marriage to Kathy Clark and they later divorced. After his marriage to Cindy Maier, of Thorp, he worked on his father-in-law's dairy farm. After his divorce from Cindy, he held various local jobs helping out wherever he could.

In his spare time, Roger enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by ten siblings: Bob (Barb) Rycerz of Hartford, Barb Rycerz of Thorp, A1 Rycerz (Julie Burkhardt) of Thorp, John (Debbie) Rycerz of Greenfield, Kathy Rycerz of Thorp, Ron Rycerz (Sharon King) of Chippewa Falls, Dave Rycerz of Thorp, Bill Rycerz of Thorp, Mary Oberle of Plymouth, Eugene Rycerz of Lublin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Julie Rycerz.
