Diamond, Martha Eileen (Sutton) (6 FEB 1944 - 7 FEB 2018)

Martha Eileen Diamond, 74, went home to Jesus on Feb. 7, 2018. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Martha was born on Feb. 6, 1944 in Eau Claire to the late Ralph and Thelma (Dougherty) Sutton. She graduated from Tony High School in 1962.

Martha married Benjamin Diamond on April 21, 1962. After living in Clinton for a short period of time, they relocated to the Diamond family farm in Donald (Gilman area) where they raised their family of six children. Martha worked as a substitute rural mail carrier for eight years, before moving on to Butternut where she was a mail carrier for 28 years. She retired in 2011.

Martha loved quilting, reading, gardening, spending time with her family and taking road trips with her sister and brother.

Martha is survived by her husband, of 54 years, Benjamin Diamond; daughter, Pearl (Layne) Rominske of Butternut; sons, Robert (Gwen) of Glidden, Dean (Jean) of Stanley, Donald (Lisa) of Mosinee, David (Paula) of Oak Creek and Ben (Sue) of Muskego; 12 grandchildren, Santana (special friend Angie), Sam (special friend, Lauren), George, Kimberly (Eugene), Suzannah (fiancé, Bryer), Max, Tiffany (Joshua), Sherry, Andrew (Terri) and Shane; and seven great-grandchildren and one on the way. She is further survived by a brother, Daryl Sutton; sisters, Anita Bedward and Rhonda Gassenhuber; a sister-in-law, Mary (Dean) Krizan; and two brothers-in-law, Arnold (Rose) Diamond and Jack (Carol) Diamond; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by an infant sister, Elsie; her sister-in-law, Diane Sutton; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Bedward and Ralph Gassenhuber; and her father and mother-in-law, George “Jack” and Ruth Diamond.
