Aschenbrenner, Harold “Bud” (25 May 1926 – 10 January 2018) With Flag
Harold “Bud” Aschenbrenner, 91, of Black River Falls passed away Wednesday, Jan.
10, 2018, at the Onalaska Care Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 25, 1926, son of Anton and Amelia (Merkel) Aschenbrenner in
Auburndale. He was united in marriage in Marshfield to Lois Charmain Radtke in
1951.
Bud lived in Marshfield, Neillsville and Black River Falls and worked for WI Gas
Company from 1961 until his retirement. Bud was very proud of his service to his
country. He served in the Army for two years of active duty from 1946 to 1948
and 25 years in the Army Reserves, retiring as a sergeant major. Bud and Lois
enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and shared many laughs playing cards with friends.
He was a very active member in many organizations in Black River Falls,
including the Lions Club and the American Legion Post 200. Bud was also a member
of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Bud is survived by his sons, Paul (Peggy) Aschenbrenner and John (Mary)
Aschenbrenner; daughter-in-law LuAnn Aschenbrenner; son-in-law David LeTexier;
nine grandchildren: Jesse Aschenbrenner, Heather Thomas, Aaron Aschenbrenner,
Ginger Aschenbrenner, Mark, Alex and Ryan Aschenbrenner, Erin Holt and Taylor
LeTexier; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois, after 62 years of marriage; son
Raymond Aschenbrenner; and daughter Debra LeTexier.
A mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburndale, officiated by Father Antony Arokiyam.
Burial was with full military honors followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church
Cemetery. Following the burial, family and friends were invited to join the
family for a luncheon in St. Mary’s Church basement.
Family and friends were invited for visitation from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Monday,
Jan. 15, 2018, at Buswell Funeral Home in Black River Falls, and again from 9
a.m. Tuesday until time of services at the church at Auburndale.
Memorials can be made to Jackson County Interfaith Caregivers. Buswell Funeral
Home assisted the family with arrangements.
