The Owen-Withee Education Associated honored Mrs. Evelyn Warns at a retirement
banquet at the Woodland Hotel on May 18, 1970, at 8 p.m. On behalf of the
Owen-Withee Education Association, Mrs. Ella Zielinski present Mrs. Warns a
corsage of red roses. After a social hour, a delicious meal was served by the
hotel management.
Mr. Tom Miller, president of the O.W.E.A., welcomed guests and also the retired
guests, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Allen and Mr. Bill Doonan, who came to welcome Mrs.
Warns to their ranks. Mr. Ted Kafka showed pictures on the screen of Mrs. Warns'
past schools and her students, and Mrs. Zielinski made a few comments abou them.
Mrs. Warns was presented with an engraved Kromex serving tray by Tom Miller, on
behalf of the O.W.E.A.
The O.W.E.A wants to extend their heartiest congratulations to Mrs. Warns on her
retirement, and on the completion of 37 years of teaching, first at Berlin,
Wis., and then at Thorp, Withee and Owen. We all wish Mrs. Warns and Bill many
happy days of fishing, camping and well deserved rest.
