Morley, Rilla (11 NOV 1884 – 6 JUN 1970)
Mrs. Bert Morley, nee Rilla Sturgeon, passed away Saturday, June 6, 1970 at the
Clark County Hospital, Owen, where she had been a resident since suffering a
fracture hip about a year ago. She was 85 years of age and had been a resident
of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) for more than 60 years.
Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Hoeper
and Kraut Funeral Home, owen. Rev. Arnodl Woodring of the Alliance Church
officiated, with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles, Fred, William and Edward Hoeper, Peter Madsen and
Harry Dempsey.
The deceased was born November 11, 1884 at Withee, and attended the Frenchtown
School. On June 10, 1907 she was united in marriage to the late Bert Morley, who
passed away in 1955. The couple made their home in Owen, with his work being
associated with the lumber industry, and also operated a grocery store for
several years.
She is survived by two sister, Mrs. Margaret Brandt, Chippewa Falls, and Miss
Theo Sturgeon, who resides in the state of Washington.
