Bierman, Donald H. (29 JUL 1931 - 11 FEB 2018)
Donald H. Bierman, 86, Phillips, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at
his residence.
He was born on July 29, 1931, in Pittsville, Wisconsin to the late Herman and
Caroline (Gachmang) Bierman. He married Elaine M. Lom on April 27, 1957, in Port
Edwards, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on June 10, 1991.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from January 1952 – December
1953 and was stationed in Germany. Donald worked part time for Bee-Line
Alignment in Wisconsin Rapids and for Consolidated Papers as a Beater Tender,
Retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Consolidated Musky Club and enjoyed
spending time up North in “God’s Country” chasing after muskies. He was a
dedicated family-man, who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his
grandchildren whom he would talk up any chance he had.
Donald is survived by his three children Brenda (Peter) Walczak, Timothy Bierman
and Jodi (Joseph) Erdmann; two grandchildren Ethan and Tyler Erdmann; sisters
Evelyn Graf, JoAnn White and Verjean (Norman) Sime; sister-in-law Gwen Bierman.
He is further survived by other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Elaine, brother Glenn Bierman;
sister Lorraine (Robert) Braun, brothers-in-law Eugene Graf Sr. and Ken White
and nephew, Eugene Graf Jr.
Memorial services for Donald will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 20,
2018, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Jerome
Patric will officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday
morning at the church from 9:00 AM -11:00 A.M. Burial will follow the service at
Restlawn Memorial Park in Wisconsin Rapids with military rites provided by
American Legion Post #9 of Wisconsin Rapids.
