Ringle, Robert H. “Bob” (23 FEB 1933 - 18 FEB 2018)
Robert H. “Bob” Ringle, 84, Wausau, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, under the
care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Garden Side Crossing, Mount
View Care Center, Wausau.
He was born February 23, 1933, in Wausau, son of the late Elmer and Alma (Winkert)
Ringle Sr. On April 7, 1956, he married Patricia Kort at Trinity Lutheran
Church, Wausau. She survives.
Bob retired from the Marathon County Highway Department as a mechanic in 1993.
He served as a supervisor for the Town of Rib Falls for 22 years and also was
active at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, serving as a trustee and usher.
After retirement Bob did woodworking, making many pieces of furniture for his
family and a decorative wall hanging clock for all his nieces, nephews and
friends. Some of Bob’s favorite enjoyments were being able to watch his
children’s and grandchildren’s school activities.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1956.
He was a proud member of the American Legion Alois Dreikosen Post No. 469,
Marathon, and the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter No. 64.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ringle, Rothschild; daughter, Shelley-Rae
(Adrian) Pehler, Eau Claire; son, Guy (Debra) Ringle, Brussels; grandsons, Eric
(Meredith) Pehler, Alex (Krystal Porter) Pehler and Robert D. Ringle; one
granddaughter, Ellen Ringle; one great-grandson, Everett Pehler; and two
sisters-in-law, Delores Ringle, Ozark, Mo., and Gisela Ringle, Weston.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Kaye
Ringle; brothers, Elmer Jr. and Kenneth Ringle; sisters, Frieda Werner, Bess
Foster and Delores Harder; and brothers-in-law, Ervin Werner, Darwin Foster and
Hilbert Harder.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at St.
Stephen Lutheran Church, Edgar. Rev. Gail Sowell will preside. Burial will be in
the Edgar Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the American
Legion Post No. 469 of Marathon. Friends may call on Saturday from 9 a.m. until
the time of service, all at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has
been established in Robert’s name. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau is in
charge of arrangements.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the RNs, CNAs and
other staff members at Garden Side Crossing for the outstanding care and
devotion they all shared with Bob during his stay with them. A special thank you
also goes out to the staff at Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for
their wonderful care they provided to Bob during his need.
