Wepling, Leo G. (29 OCT 1906 – 30 JUN 1970)
A resident of Ferndale for 20 years, Leo G. Wepling, age 63, 178 LeRoy, died
Tuesday, June 30, 1970, after a brief illness, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Mt.
Clemens. He had been a hat treater for Fisher Body Division of General Motors
Corp., Detroit, for 20 years.
Mr. Wepling was born October 20, 1906 in Minnesota. He was married to Anne
Johnson on August 14, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Larry L, Detroit; Mrs. Carl (Beatrice A.)
Nyquist, 600 South Kenwood, Royal Oak; four grandchildren; one brother, Arnie,
and sister, Mrs. Hub (Lempi) Missling, both of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.); two other
sisters, Mrs. Ed (Lydia) Frane, 3536 Yorba Linda, Royal Oak; and Mrs. Eleanor
piper, Casper, Wyoming.
Mr. Wepling was a member of Royal Oak Union Aerie 2092, FOE.
There was a memorial service at 8 p.m. Friday at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral
Home, Lafayette and Fifth, Royal Oak. The Rev. George Halsted, Zion Lutheran
Church, Ferndale, conducted funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral
home. Burial was made in Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
