Langreck, Bruce Patrick (17 October 1958 – 23 February 2018)

Bruce Patrick Langreck passed away peacefully Feb. 23, 2018, at the age of 59. Bruce was born Oct. 17, 1958, the son of Delbert and the late Leona (Wasserburger) Langreck. He found his lifelong love in Judy Timm and they married March 23, 1991. The Lord blessed the couple with two sons, Nicholas and Kyle, who enriched their lives immensely.

Bruce graduated from Neillsville High School in 1977 and continued his education at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institute in Rice Lake. He worked for several years in the telecommunications industry in the state of Kansas and then in Appleton. Bruce met Judy while they each attended UW-Fox Valley, then graduated in 1992 from the UW-Oshkosh. He went on to have a rewarding career in information technology, employed by the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company for over 25 years. Bruce’s passions were his faith, family and hobbies.

Bruce was an active member at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, where he served as a Stephen minister, worship assistant and men’s club member. He welcomed the opportunity to share God’s Love, including his time volunteering at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. Bruce enjoyed the outdoors through camping, hiking, sailing, biking, canoeing, snowshoeing and skiing. He loved doing all of these activities, as well as playing board games in the company of his beloved family and made a life-long priority of spending time with them.

Bruce is survived, by his loving wife, Judy, and sons Nicholas and Kyle. He is also survived by his father, Delbert (LaVada) Langreck of Loyal; brother Bernie (Margaret) of Mercer; sisters: Becky (Neil) Steirer of Hartland and Betty Jo (Kris) Smith of Neillsville; mother-in-law Caroline (Leonard) Guthu of Waupaca; brothers-in-law John Timm, Joe (Asta) Timm, and Jeffrey (Dawn) Timm; and many kind relatives and friends who remained close to him during his journey with ALS.

Bruce was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother, Leona; and father-in-law Lee Timm.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018, at 6 p.m. at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, W67 N 622 Evergreen Blvd., Cedarburg. The family will receive visitors at the church from 3 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. The family is grateful to the staff of Heartland Hospice of Wauwatosa for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated for the Milwaukee Rescue Mission and www.ChristianCrusaders.org.
