Dassow, John William "Jack" (1936? - 21 FEB 2018)
John William "Jack" Dassow, 82, passed away peacefully on Feb. 21, 2018
surrounded by his dear wife, Barbara of 61 years, and his loving family.
John was a proud father of Nancy (Robert) Bagley, Gary (Jan), Patty (Ben)
Yanasak, Tom, Mike (Kathy) and Rick; a loving grandpa of Justin (Emily), Jamiee
(Darrick), Lisa (Jared), Andrew (Jenna), Adam (Caitlin), Nicholas, Eric, Meghan,
Danny, Joseph, Elliot, Matthew, Jenna, Carly, Ryan, Becca, Calvin and Mitchell
and a special great-grandpa of little troopers, Max, Jack, Jacob and Levi. He is
also survived by Dawn Dassow, Tammy Dassow and Kris Dassow; his sister-in-law,
Carol Koller; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, William and Amelia Dassow; four
sisters, Joan (George) Kowalefski, Linda (Ron) Kenyon, Wanita (Ralph) Bader and
Karen (Gerry) Grube; nephew, Alan Kowalefski; his in-law’s, Fred and Florence
Koller; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert (Lillian) Koller; and
brother-in-law, Kenneth Koller.
John worked for 44 years at Eaton Corporation Cutler Hammer. There he enjoyed
the friendship of many good friends. He loved being home spending many fun times
with his family, gardening, woodworking, cruising around the property with the
golf cart and cooking up a big pot of soup. When he was able, he loved to spend
time in the woods in Medford. John was the best party host always making sure
everyone had plenty of good food and a good time.
He received special care over the years from kind and dedicated doctors and
caregivers. Special thanks to Dr. James Davis and staff, Dr. Barry Gimbel and
nurse Janet Hundley and Seasons Hospice, especially Becky and Nicole.
Visitation was held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Dr., Brookfield
on Monday, Feb. 26 from 4-7 p.m. A prayer vigil was held at 7 p.m. Visitation
was held at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Dr., Hartland on Tuesday,
Feb. 27 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. A mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 a.m.
Entombment was held at Wisconsin Memorial Park. John will always remain in the
hearts of his family forever.
