Rosseter, Harold G. (13 SEP 1928 - 19 FEB 2018)
Harold G. Rosseter, 89, Cornell, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at his home.
Harold was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Chippewa Falls, to Gertrude (Coleson) and
Oscar Rosseter. He grew up on his parents’ farm in the Town of Anson. Harold
served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1953-55 during the Korean Conflict.
After the military, he moved back to Chippewa Falls, where he met and married
the love of his life, Delores Ann Schick, July 5, 1955. He worked at O.K. Rubber
Welders in Chippewa Falls, his path then took him to Rockford, Ill., where his
son, Tim, and daughter, Rita, were born.
Harold then decided to open his own tire shop in Platteville. While living
there, the family was blessed with three more children – Dan, Ben and Steve. The
couple lived in Platteville, running Harold’s Tire and raising their children.
The couple retired to Cornell in December 2010, where Delores passed in 2013.
Harold enjoyed hunting with his sons and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing
and going to northern Minnesota to visit his brother. He also had many family
elk hunting trips out west.
He is survived by his children – Timothy (Vanessa), Rita Busch (Phil Houtakker),
Benjamin, Daniel (Cherie) and Steve; grandchildren – Scott Busch (Tasha Blindert),
Katrina (Nels) Steffen, Traci (Kevin) Pulvermacher, Sarah (Dean) Kroeplin,
Edward Rosseter (Jodi Shilts), Nick (Courtney) Rosseter, Gail Rosseter, Kelly
Rosseter (Benjamin Campbell), Katie Rosseter and Kenny (Malene) Rosseter; and 11
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife – Delores; a brother –
Theodore Rosseter; a sister – Rose Ann Brown; son-in-law – Steve Busch; and a
grandson – Kevin Rosseter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at Pederson-Volker Funeral
Chapel in Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Terri Koca officiating. Interment with
military honors provided by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will follow at
the Copp Cemetery, in the Town of Anson, Chippewa County.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday, at the funeral
chapel.
