Schuh, Ambrose A. "Amby" (6 SEP 1933 - 24 FEB 2018)
Ambrose A. "Amby" Schuh, Age 84, of Colby, passed away on Saturday, February 24,
2018 as the result of a traffic accident near Withee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28,
2018 at St. Mary Help of Christian Parish in Colby. Father Joseph Redfern will
officiate. Interment will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Family and
Friends are welcome for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service
Wednesday at the church.
Ambrose was born on September 6, 1933, the son of Arthur and Anita (Gosse) Schuh
in Chippewa County. He graduated from Colby High School. On November 25, 1954,
Ambrose was united in marriage to Elaine Burtard at St. Mary Parsonage. Together
they farmed in the Town of Colby.
Ambrose enjoyed dancing, playing cards, fishing, traveling and tending to his
large garden. Most importantly, he cherished his family.
Ambrose is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elaine of Colby; seven children:
Carol Jean Kadonsky of Wausau, Duane (Joan) Schuh of Mosinee, Bobbie Ann (Bill)
Ewert of Colby, Laurie Jarvenpaa (Allan) of Brownsville, Ronald (Sheri) Schuh of
Spencer, Darryl (Rose) Schuh of Kingsford, MI and Dennis (Dawn) Schuh of
Chippewa Falls; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is further
survived by his sister, Marie (Valgene) Fischer of Colby; two sisters-in-law and
two brothers-in-law: Sally (Herbie) Bloom of West Bend, Orville Burtard of
Jackson, Carol (Ron) Hofmann of Owen and Ken Burtard of Theresa; nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Donald and his
great-granddaughter, Aster Kadonsky.
