Turner, son of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Turner of route 1, Withee (Clark Co.),
Wisconsin, is a member of the wintering-over party at the U.S. Antarctic Support
Activity, McMurdo Station.
Recently celebrating Mid-Winter Day, the day in Antarctica when the South Pole
is farthest from the son, the men at McMurdo Station maintain scientific
stations during the seven month austral winter.
