Rued, Paul (2 DEC 1894 – 26 JUL 1970)

Paul Rued passed away Sunday, July 26, 1970 at the Buffalo, Minnesota Hospital. He was born December 2, 1894 to Matt and Randi Rued at Curtiss (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, and was educated in the Curtiss Public Schools. He also attended Highland Park School of Engineering at Des Moines, Iowa, and the Wisconsin Business Academy in Milwaukee. He served for nearly two years in Company "B" 132nd Infantry of the American Expeditionary Force during world War I. He was married December 24, 1925 to Marion Beach at Waupun, Wisconsin. They lived on a farm near Medford until they moved to Big Lake, Minnesota in September of 1946. He was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Curtiss, and has been a member of Saron Lutheran Church of Big Lake since 1946.

Surviving are hei wife, Marion, six children, Stephen of Curtiss, Wis.; Pauline (Mrs. Julius Koop) of Chicago, Ill.; Keith of Rochester, N.Y.; David of Aitkin, Minn.; Cynthia (Mrs. Paul Whitney) of Cambridge, Minn.; Randine (Mrs. Richard Johnson) of Holland, Michigan. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Ness and Miss Agnes Rued of Santa Monica, California. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Axel Rued.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, July 29th at the Monticello Funeral Home, Monticello, Minnesota, with Pasto Richard Oltmanns officiating. Vocalist was Mrs. Reuben Norlander, accompanied by Mrs. Arve Grimsmo at the organ.

Casket bearers were: Lester Anderson, Carl Aubol, George Brown, Lawrence Danger, William Moore, and Reuben Norlander.

Interment was at the Big Lake, Minnesota Cemetery.
