Beave, S-Sgt. Dennis D. (Military -1974)
S-Sgt. Dennis D. Beaver, son of mrs. Beverly J. Beaver, Neillsville, is
scheduled to participate in the 1974 Strategic Air Command (SAC) elite, bombing
and navigation competition at Barksdale AFB, La., November 10-16.
Sgt. Beaver is an avionics instrument systems technician on the hand-picked tam
that will support the B-52 bomber crew from the 43rd Strategic Wing at Andersen
AFB, Guam. He was selected by his commander for his technical skill, proficiency
and duty performance.
The competition demonstrates the flying proficiency of SAC’s top combat bomber
and tanker aircrews. Royal Air Force crews also will compete in the Vulcan
bomber and for the first time, Tactical Air Command F-11 fighter-bomber crews
will be entered.
Sgt. Beaver is a 1969 graduate of Loyal High School. His father, Donald W.
Beaver, resides on Rt. 2 Granton.
The sergeant’s wife, Peggy, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wissell of
Rt. 2 Loyal.
