Herman Ludwig “Smokey” Heldt, 82, Owen, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Marshfield.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 7 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, with Revs. Don Wilger and Nick Husain officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Grandchildren served as pallbearers.

Herman is the son of Edward & Emelia Heldt. He served with the US Army, during WW 2.

Maurina Funeral Home of Owen assisted the family with arrangements.
