Erickson, Laura (7 NOV 1897 – 11 OCT 1970)
A long-time resident of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) and community and civic
leader, Mrs. A.M. Erickson, died Sunday, October 11, 1970 at a La Crosse
Lutheran hospital, La Crosse, Wisconsin, after having been a resident patient at
the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wardell, for several
weeks.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 14, 1970 at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church Curtiss, with Rev. Roger Tellock officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Orville Laabs, Paul Fricke, Franklin Kraut, Arnold
Bakke, Grant Herrick and John Lokken.
The former Laura Geary was born November 7, 1897 in Chaseburg. Her marriage to
Alfred Erickson took place November 7, 1917, in Abbotsford. Mr. Erickson was a
cashier at the Owen-Curtiss State Bank for many years. The couple celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary in 1967.
Mrs. Erickson was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the church guild.
Survivors include her husband’ one son, John, St. Cloud, Minn.; and one
daughter, Mrs. H.J. (Ethel) Wardell, La Cross; five grandchildren, and two
brothers, Willard and Clarence Geary, both of Curtiss.
